01 The broken state

Ahara Corporation came to us with inaccurate Google Analytics data and gaps in their conversion event setup. Form interactions were being reported without any actual submissions, several events were misconfigured, internal traffic was not excluded, and landing pages showed many "not set" values. E-commerce conversions were captured on desktop but missing entirely for mobile and tablet.

02 What we changed

  1. Ran a full audit of the existing GA4 and GTM configuration to identify why data was inaccurate and which events were missing.
  2. Disabled enhanced measurement to stop phantom form interactions, extended the session timeout to clear 'not set' landing-page values, excluded internal traffic, and defined a marketing audience.
  3. Rebuilt event tracking in GTM for CTA clicks, form submissions, outbound and navigation clicks, Vimeo video progress, content grouping by article category, and a shallow lead event.
  4. Configured custom definitions to pass parameters such as article category, video duration percentage, video status, and user ID.
  5. Fixed the User Properties setup by moving the trigger from window load to DOM Ready, so the value was available in the data layer when the configuration tag fired.
  6. Delivered a measurement plan aligned to the client's business goals and KPIs, then verified the implementation with a follow-up audit.
  7. Built a three-page Looker Studio dashboard covering site overview metrics, business objectives (CTA and navigation clicks, content and video engagement, memberships, supplement interest), and product performance from view to purchase.

03 The outcome

An audit found phantom form interactions, ecommerce conversions missing on mobile and tablet while desktop reported correctly, and internal traffic skewing the data. We rebuilt the event taxonomy, moved the User Properties trigger to DOM Ready, and delivered a three-page Looker Studio dashboard covering CTA and navigation clicks, content and video engagement, social shares, memberships, and supplement interest.
